This course is designed to introduce students to the diverse aspects of British culture and civilisation. The course is directed towards examining traditions and institutions to help students understand and analyse the cultural features of contemporary British society. The topics that will be covered during the thirteen - week course are Britain and its people, the different characteristics of the four nations, the sense of British identity, the shape of the British multicultural society, immigration, race relations and ethnicity, the social classes, the political institutions, the form of government, media, and the economic system
